January 19, 2024: Critical Places: Sites of American Slave Rebellion
A newspaper opinion piece discusses Levin’s upcoming solo exhibition in the context of Mississippi and its history.
Levin’s exhibition (opening Friday, January 26 and running through April 1) is being presented in the south slave cabin at Melrose, a Greek Revival estate in Natchez National Historical Park. Of the three sites selected for presentation, one rebellion took place in the county where the work is being shown.

The work is about how rebellions are remembered (or not remembered) in the landscape, and what significance those rebellions still hold today.
