The first hundred photojournalists have been commissioned to document the state of the country and its territories in the time of the ongoing health crisis. The Bibliothèque nationale is managing this enormous and historic project which will ultimately include 200 photographers. In 2023 it will organize an exhibition and accompanying catalogue and ultimately be the custodian of the works in its formidable collection. Jane Evelyn Atwood will produce a social and environmental profile of the westernmost point of France, the isle of Ouessant off the coast of Brittany.

The Gallery will be presenting in this year’s Paris Photo at the Grand Palais Éphémère.

The Gallery (booth B30) will be presenting a three-person exhibition titled Community Ties/Liens Communautaires with vintage works by Jane Evelyn Atwood, John Cohen and Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen.

This year’s edition of Paris Photo will be held at the Grand Palais Éphémère, situated on the Champ-de-Mars, facing the Eiffel Tour. This temporary space designed by architects Wilmotte & Associés, will bring together leading galleries and art book dealers for it’s long-awaited 24th edition. The best of photographic creation from vintage and modern masters to the latest contemporary trends will be presented alongside an ambitious program of exhibitions, conversations, artist signatures sessions and curated fair paths.

This second venue of the touring exhibition Facing Britain paints a portrait of Great Britain from time of its application to join the European Economic Community in 1963 to its exit from the EU. in 2020. Historically virulent topics such as youth unemployment, the decline of the mining industry or protests and demonstrations against Margaret Thatcher's policies are examined as well as current issues such as gender justice, consumer society, Brexit or migration. Examples of work from both Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen and John Davies are included.

The Antiques Council is presenting the sixth annual Nantucket Summer Antiques Show with over 30 antiques dealers and art galleries from the US and abroad.

L. Parker Stephenson Photographs will be showcasing international art from the 1970s, in addition to earlier work from c. 1960 and contemporary photography.  The rhythm of the presentation will be stylish, creative, and vibrant. Jan Yoors’ bold and colorful abstract tapestry and charcoal nudes and Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen’s timeless photographs of seaside activities will offer works in a variety of media, scale, and texture. These will be balanced by a grid of Witho Worms’ contemporary minimal and meditative platinum prints of coastal landscapes.

It’s spring, time to re-emerge and see art!

ARTnews and the Madison Avenue BID are once again organizing this season's Gallery Walk. This free event invites the public to visit over 30 participating galleries to view their spring exhibitions and, with a reservation, to attend talks led by artists and gallerists from East 57th Street to East 86th Street.

On view at the Gallery will be Witho WormsPolderland series. Addressing issues of land reclaimed from coastline, Worms’ divides the horizon into sea or soil and atmospheric Dutch sky. These minimal yet detailed contact platinum prints present a landscape manipulated by human intervention for the purpose of creating agricultural fields and sites of habitation.
